Basic Responsibilities:

Responsibilities of this position include partnering with both internal and external team members, collaborating to enhance team operations and success, and providing timely information and payments to secure a positive and lasting relationship with everyone involved in the construction process. Aptitude for establishing accounting, reporting, and risk management procedures that take full advantage of our system's features and capabilities to provide relevant and accurate financial reports, forecasts, billings, and payments and a wholehearted commitment to building strong partnerships to support accounting and strategic goals will be critical for success.

Qualified candidates will demonstrate:

  • Numerical Abilities: Ability to provide accurate and up-to-date project cost projections, reconciliations, and financial status.
  • Accuracy and Detail Orientation: Ability to maintain accurate and detailed project financial records.
  • Relationships: Ability to earn respect through accounting expertise and positive approach to problem solving. Ability to develop productive relationships with the accounting team, construction management teams, trade contractors, and Christman employees at all levels.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills, including excellent ability to identify needs of the construction project team and Owner and participate in collaborative problem solving. Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing or verbally. 
  • Work Planning: Ability to plan and prioritize individual contributions to achieve high-quality, timely results that contribute positively within the context of accounting initiatives. Dependable and punctual for all work-related commitments.
  • Computer Skills: Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook) and aptitude and desire for expanding that knowledge to other types of software. Knowledge of and experience with Viewpoint software a plus.
  • Professionalism: Ability to maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor and appearance at all times and perform well under project constraints and deadlines.
  • Learning Orientation: Willing to pursue related educational and training opportunities for job performance improvement on an on-going basis, and to openly share knowledge and debate concepts with appropriate members of the Christman team.

Best suited candidates will possess the following characteristics:

  • Demonstrated success in accounting positions requiring professionalism, integrity and accuracy; previous experience in the construction industry.
  • Minimum of 2 years Project Accounting experience.
